听1.听What are the course requirements for minor in biology? 听 - An under graduate minor in biology 听consists of a minimum of 24 semester hours 听of biology courses, 16 of which should 听be taken in sequence. These courses are 听 BIOL 1110/ 1111 听General Biology I and Lab; 听 BIOL 1120/ 1121 听General Biology II and Lab; 听 BIOL 2110/2111 Cell Biology and Lab, 听and听 BIOL 2120/ 2121 听Principles of Genetics and Lab. 听General Chemistry 1110 and 1120, with laboratories, are required as a supporting related course and must precede BIOL 2110. The remaining 听eight hours of biology courses听 must be on the 3000 or 4000 level and may be elected by the student. 2. How do I know who my faculty advisor is? 听 - You can find the name and contact email of your biology faculty advisor from your Degree Works, which is located within your听 MyTSU 听Portal. Logon to your听 MyTSU, 听click on Degree Works, then you will see the name of your faculty advisor. 听 3. What are the upper division general elective courses for undergraduate biology major? 听 - Upper division general elective courses 听can be in any discipline, having a course number greater than 3000.听 听 4. How can I officially听 change my major, minor or 听concentration? 听 - You may officially change your major,听 add or drop a听 minor 听or听 double major, change your concentration by submitting a request form. You may download the blank听 Undergraduate Change of Major/Minor Request Form, 听fill in required information, ask your advisor to sign, and submit听 the听 form听 to the Office of Records. 听 听 |
